June13, 2024: The annual feast of St. Antony was devoutly celebrated on June 13, 2024, at St. Antony Church, Anthonykatte. The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Most Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Mangalore, who also delivered the homily for the occasion. The Commission for Liturgy animated the liturgy, enriching the spiritual atmosphere of the celebration.
Several Deanery and guest priests were present to grace the occasion. The festal Eucharist drew a large gathering, who actively participated in the celebration. Following the Mass, a festive non-vegetarian meal was served to all the faithful, fostering fellowship and togetherness among the parish community.
Triduum in Preparation for the Feast: In preparation for the feast, a three-day Triduum was conducted on June 10, 11, and 12, 2024, at Anthonykatte. The Commission for Liturgy led the liturgical animation, with spiritual reflections delivered by Fr. Ronald D’Souza, Pezar, Fr. Harry D’Souza, Gladsome Home and Fr. Santhosh Menezes, Mudipu.
Each day witnessed the active participation of devotees, who gathered in prayer and devotion. Non-vegetarian food was also served daily during the Triduum, adding to the spirit of community bonding.
The annual feast of St. Antony at Anthonykatte was marked by deep faith, vibrant participation, and a sense of unity among devotees. The solemn liturgy, inspiring sermons, and fellowship meals together created an atmosphere of joy and devotion befitting the patron saint’s feast.
