February 23, 2025: Catechism Day was celebrated with great devotion and joy on Sunday, 23rd February 2025, in the Adyapady Church Hall. The event witnessed full attendance from students, parents, catechism teachers, and parishioners, marking it as a memorable day of faith and fellowship.

Participation and Variety Entertainment

Students from both Adyapady and Anthonykatte parishes came together and actively participated in the day’s programme. A colourful variety entertainment was presented by the children, showcasing their talents through songs, skits, and dances, which highlighted moral and spiritual values learned during catechism classes.

Prize Distribution

To encourage excellence and dedication, prizes were distributed to the toppers of each catechism class, recognizing their hard work and commitment to learning. The students who achieved 100% attendance were also honoured, motivating others to follow their example in faith formation.

Dignitaries and Guests

The programme was held under the guidance of Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Francis Rodrigues, and Br. Royston D’Souza. The dais was graced by Mr. Jhonson D’Souza, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, and Mr. Sunil D’Souza, Secretary, who extended their encouragement and support to the catechism movement.

Felicitation of Teachers

A special moment of the celebration was the felicitation of catechism teachers from both Adyapady and Anthonykatte, acknowledging their tireless service, dedication, and commitment in nurturing the faith of young children. Tokens of gratitude were presented as a mark of appreciation for their invaluable contribution.

Conclusion

The event concluded with words of blessings and encouragement from the Parish Priest, who stressed the importance of catechism in building a strong foundation of faith among the younger generation. The Catechism Day thus became not only a celebration of academic achievement but also a reaffirmation of the community’s commitment to passing on the values of faith, love, and service.
