Novena to Infant Mary Devoutly Observed at St. Antony Church, Anthonykatte

August 30 , 2025: As part of the spiritual preparation for the grand Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a solemn Novena to Infant Mary commenced at St. Antony Church, Anthonykatte, on 30th August 2025. The novena will continue with deep devotion until 7th September 2025, drawing together the faithful in prayer and reflection.

Every day of the novena witnessed the enthusiastic participation of parishioners, especially children, whose active involvement in the prayers and hymns brought joy, innocence, and vibrancy to the celebration. Their presence not only enriched the devotion but also highlighted the tradition of instilling Marian faith and values in the younger generation.

A strong sense of community spirit and fellowship was evident throughout the days of preparation. Parishioners and well-wishers came forward generously, contributing sweets and refreshments that were shared among all participants after the services. This gesture of sharing fostered unity, strengthened bonds among families, and added a festive charm to the occasion.

The Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be celebrated with great solemnity on 8th September 2025 at 8:00 a.m. The celebration will begin with a New Corn Procession from the St. Antony Grotto, symbolizing gratitude for the blessings of harvest and the gift of life. This procession, deeply rooted in Konkani Catholic tradition, will serve as an expression of thanksgiving and joy, uniting the faithful in prayerful reverence for Mother Mary. The Anthonykatte community looks forward with anticipation to this annual celebration, which blends devotion, tradition, and togetherness, honoring Infant Mary and invoking blessings for families, children, and the entire Anthonykatte community.
