Feast of St Antony Celebrated with Deep Devotion at Anthonykatte

June 13, 2026: The annual Feast of St Antony was celebrated with great devotion, faith, and enthusiasm at St Antony Church, Anthonykatte, on June 13, 2026. The solemn occasion marked another significant milestone in the growing devotion to St Antony at this cherished shrine.

The festive Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Very Rev. Dr. Rudolph Raj Pinto, O.C.D., National Secretary of the Commission for Liturgy (CCBI), Goa. The solemn liturgy drew more than a thousand devotees from various places, reflecting the deep-rooted faith and increasing devotion among the faithful. In his inspiring homily, Fr. Pinto emphasized St Antony’s call to be a witness of mercy, compassion, and Christian charity in today’s world. The prayerful atmosphere was evident as devotees actively participated in the Holy Mass and reverently venerated the sacred relic of St Antony.

Three-Day Triduum Preparation

As a spiritual preparation for the feast, a three-day Triduum was conducted with great fervour. The services were led by Fr. Richard D’Souza, Fr. Ronald D’Souza, and Fr. Elston Monteiro, O.C.D. Each day witnessed a large gathering of faithful who benefited from inspiring sermons, meaningful reflections, and opportunities for prayer and spiritual renewal. The Triduum helped deepen devotion to St Antony and fostered unity among parishioners and visiting devotees.

The entire celebration was meticulously organized under the leadership of the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Francis Rodrigues, whose dedication and spiritual guidance contributed significantly to the success of the feast. The wholehearted cooperation of parishioners, volunteers, and benefactors ensured the smooth and prayerful conduct of all the liturgical and festive events.

Following the Eucharistic Celebration, a fellowship meal was served to all attendees, promoting a spirit of community, sharing, and Christian fellowship.

The overwhelming participation and profound devotion witnessed throughout the celebrations reaffirm that St Antony Church, Anthonykatte, continues to flourish as a vibrant centre of faith. The shrine remains a place of prayer and pilgrimage, attracting devotees from near and far who seek the blessings and intercession of St Antony.
