June 7, 2026: The inauguration of the Sunday Catechism for the year 2026–27 was held on 7th June 2026 at Adyapady-Anthonykatte Parish thereby marking the beginning of the catechetical year during the 8:15 a.m. Holy Mass. The Eucharistic celebration was offered by Rev Fr Francis Rodrigues, Parish Priest who was the main celebrant.
The inauguration was conducted according to the guidelines of the Mangala Jyothi, Mangalore Diocese Bible and Catechism Commission. The theme for the year, “Our Children are the Fruits of God’s Kingdom,” was highlighted, along with the biblical message: “Let the little children come to me.” (Matthew 19:13–15)
During the inauguration ceremony, four pairs of parents along with their children represented the entire parish community’s families. Catechism teachers, parents, children, Vice President & secretary of PPC and the Parish Priest joined in the Eucharistic procession. Prior to the Holy Mass, the catechism year was formally inaugurated. Teachers, parents, and children took an oath to faithfully carry out their responsibilities and to grow in faith and values.
In his homily, Rev Fr Francis Rodrigues emphasized the importance of Sunday Catechism and encouraged parents to send their children regularly so that they may grow closer to God. He also highlighted the importance of the Feast of Corpus Christi.
The inauguration marked a meaningful beginning to the catechism year, inspiring all to grow in faith and unity.
