April 13, 2025: The solemn season of Holy Week commenced at St Antony Church, Anthonykatte, with the celebration of Palm Sunday on 13th April 2025. Many participated in the meaningful liturgy, holding blessed palms in their hands and recalling the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. The procession of palms, accompanied by hymns and prayers, created a deeply spiritual atmosphere, marking the beginning of the most sacred week in the Church’s liturgical calendar.
In preparation for the Holy Week, special confessional services were arranged for the faithful, enabling them to receive the sacrament of reconciliation and prepare spiritually for the journey of the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of the Lord. The faithful made use of this opportunity for repentance and renewal, fostering a spirit of unity and devotion in the community.
The liturgical celebrations and spiritual animation for Holy Week were led by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Francis Rodrigues, whose homilies and reflections inspired the parishioners to meditate on the values of sacrifice, humility, and love. His guidance is helping the faithful enter more deeply into the mystery of salvation during these holy days.
The parish community, under the leadership of Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Francis Rodrigues, is preparing to continue the journey of Holy Week with devotion, moving towards the sacred days of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the joyful celebration of Easter.
